Stretched as far as the eye could see, a meadow filled with oxeye daisies and wild grasses, becomes a galaxy of star-spangled forms for the humble bee. Rachel takes us into a bee’s dance, as they move from one daisy to another, their delicate pointed wings fluttering with the petals as buttery stripes dazzle like chevrons heralding the way to the nectar.

Journey with these bees as they dance among the large, solitary heads of Oxeye daisies, appearing like a thousand moons, with petals outstretched, falling or tightly nipped in bud, to share the location of pollen sources, nectar, water, and even possible new beehives to call home. 

A Hive of Design Collection

After 30-years at the helm of Moorcroft design, Rachel Bishop has something to buzz-about. Hive of Design, features five bee designs. In bygone times, the multitude of different bees hovering over flower-filled hay and clover meadows, must have been enchanting. With bee numbers at critical levels, Rachel has championed the plight of the humble bee in recent years. Hive of Design celebrates the senior designer’s achievements in the natural world, where meadow flowers with oxeye-daisies, cornflowers and poppies join garden florals in a fanfare of colour and form as bees allow the designs to hum with life.
